Spare a thought , or a prayer if you can for the Christians in Gaza who face an unhappy and uncertain future, Only 3,00o left and most will choose permanent exile than remain. Before you point a finger, think of the Christians in Israel as well. A disappearing minority.
Happy Christmas.
Thanks Jennifer for pointing out the error.

Tony Blair
So Tony finally did it. I suppose I should look forward to England being tolerant enough to have a Ramon Catholic as the 'primus inter pares" but I can't say it's that important. Still, if you want to look for intolerance, hatred, distrust, bigotry and all the other human baggage, I don't have to walk far from my door.

Friedman
He does have a point. When you throw a party and your enemies turn up but not those you thought friendly, well, that's interesting. So why didn't Kuwait and Iraq turn up at Annapolis?

Wet and happy
It's wet here in the North. Raining off and on and sometimes on again. Apart from the joys of wearing welly boots while walking the dog we are currently dogsitting, it has an unexpected side benefit. As the teachers strike stretches into it's umpteenth day, the sadly under worked 550,000 High School students do not wander in packs past our house at 0400 talking loudly and shouting into their cellphones. They're where they should be, glued into their beds or riveted to the TV/Computer.

UK and Holocaust problems
Last week , I had problems persuading a colleague that the email doing the rounds about UK schools not teaching the Holocaust was a fake. Eventually I got through. At the end he said "but what a scandal if it was true!".
Damn everyone who sends this thing on. For those who get the dead tree version of Ha'Aretz, Ester Solomon, a senior editor has a nice article. Alas, diligent searching did not find a link.
Spare a candle for the unfortunate University of Kentucky, mistaken by some illiterate as the UK. They now have problems.
For all those who sent it to me, you are sentenced to 30 minutes of listening to Spam Radio, a fine service that puts spam emails into audio. No skipping off early or I'll send Limor Livnat after you. A fate too dreadful to contemplate.
