Blog break
I'm taking a break. I have little to say that's worthwhile and other bloggers say it better. Send me an email if you'd like to know when I come back and I'll let you know. Thanks to everyone who visited and helped make it what it was and to Cathy.

Blog of a death foretold
Having read this, I'm considering a blog break. Still, it is to be expected that someone somewhere would do it.

We wait
While we wait for the Gaza outcome, we played 'Celebrity Products' at lunch time. This involves thinking up products that celebrities could endorse. For example:
O.J.Simson Burgers. 'Every pack comes with an oven glove that doesn't fit."
Monica Lewinsky Wet Wipes.
Arik Sharon's Guide to Healthy Living.
Yitzak Rabin's Bullet Proof Vest.
You get the idea. Try your hand in the comments.

IDF raids home of Hamas militant in southern Gaza, nabs 2 sons - Haaretz - Israel News
Oh look. Israel gets to go back into Gaza. At least no planes overnight as the Quassams seems to have died down a bit. Inventory problem I suspect. I managed to recover from the concert and now it;s just heat, heat , heat. No pictures yet, blogger is sulking.

Concert
The concert was wonderful. We beat the worst of the traffic and were on site by 6:30. Very well organised, a large good humoured crowd and food and drink available. Andy Fairweather-Low was in the band! I suspect Roger Waters lip synced a few times but I've got no complaints. Slept while the carpark jam unwound and got home after dawn.
I take my hat off to the organisers. A good an event as I've ever been too. I even saw Israelis voluntarily queuing in a straight line with no pushing or barging in. Even the toilets were a pleasure to visit.

Tapuah resident suspected of smuggling sniper rifles from U.S. - Haaretz - Israel News
Hmmmm. So he claims he smuggled weapons into Israel just because he wanted to help IDF snipers with better equipment. Nice try.

Deep Falafel
My source tells me of an Instructor somewhere in the bowels of the Israeli defence establishment. He lectures on creative thinking. When asked what his solution to the Qauassam rockets hitting Israel is he said "When a rocket lands in Sderot, give every inhabitant $100".
Brilliant if not practical. The locals would beg for more, people would flock to the place and the Palestinians would tear their hair and gnash their teeth every time another one got fired. "What, we doing this so they get paid?".

Egypt: Da Vinci Code based on Zionist myths - Culture from Israel, Ynetnews
Yawn. Of course it is. Jesus getting married is so Talmudic. What next? Tom and Jerry is zionist as well? Oh, look, they did that one already.

Google ‘spying’ on IDF
Hooray! High res Google earth images for Israel. That's todays work schedule shot down and buring in flames. As for cries of 'spying', that's so seventies thinking. You can get 20cm res pictures of pretty much anywhere you want these days for the heavy wallet crowd.

England fans watered back to life
I sort of saw the England match yesterday while recovering from what seemed like flu. Not very impressive. When I got to work people came round to express their sympathy. Oh dear, O dear. At least we don't have power cuts right now but the hopes for a 'World Cup Hudna' have gone right out of the window.

Waking up
There is nothing quite like driving to work, seeing the traffic ahead slowing rapidly, then watching with heart pounding terror as the half asleep driver behind fishtails around in a growing cloud of tyre smoke. A wake up moment I could do without.

Back where I belong
I'm back. When I left the plane at Ben Gurion, I felt like turning around and flying back. The heat and humidity was hard to take. Mrs Egghead was wonderful as she always is and met me at the airport at 0330. Surprise!
The chocolates I'd brought for my workmates did not survive the trip home and melted into a sticky pile very close to 10 days of laundary. We're thinking of throwing it all away. As a special treat , we have rolling power cuts which turn of lights, air conditioning and computers.
Good to be back though. I really mean that even though I've turned sad and jave an England flag on my car. They will beat Brazil in the final. Bad luck Balagan.
