I haven’t blogged for a while. Work got in the way plus being rather ill. Still, things are looking up now and I’m off to the UK next week.
There’s only one issue at home and at work. At work, we should be worrying about Microsoft’s latest collection of security patches, whether SP3 for NT5 is a good thing and other such grek. Instead there is one topic now. No, it’s not even the latest Palestinian bombing attempt (remember they keep trying). It is , of course, when will the USA kick-off Gulf War II (The Happy Return). Coming to a TV set near you soon.
I’m betting on November 9th now whilst others here go for August end. I also predict that Saddam will try at least one attempt to attack Israel with a biological weapon and partially succeed. If he hits Northern Israel, this blog will stop right then and there.
Whilst I’m all in favour of Saddam getting the chop, I’d much rather my family , friends and countrymen didn’t go with him. Being part of his escort to hell does not appeal to me at all.
Expat in Israel.

Another interesting chat with an Israeli barman last night. Someone, who I always took to be a right winger turned out to be another confused liberal. He seems so confident, brash, fluent , yet underneath in need of help. I got the impression that he had problems with female as well. Looking up the Hebrew word for misogynist gave my tired brain a clue.
He does reserve duty faithfully, spends most days at the beach, works hard at a pub for a living and longs with all his heart to leave Israel.
In the meantime, more mundane matters focused my attention recently. My partner is away , helping a friend with three small children as her eldest son is in intensive care. This seems to me to be just as important then when the USA/UK attacks Iraq. The local Ha’Aretz say’s that Israel will be given advance warning. Could they include me on that please so I can get the hell of the Middle East before it explodes.
Lastly, on the recent USA decision to stop funding the UN Population Control projects. The Bush administration … no, words have failed me. Only a short, stout , stick and the entire Cabinet lined up with their trousers down could express what I feel.
